If you think bedtime battles are just for toddlers, think again.
Meet Roosta, an adorable little kangaroo joey who clearly believes bedtime is optional — especially when there are cuddles to be had. In a now-melting-hearts video, Roosta’s human dad gently tells him it’s time to go to bed. Roosta? Absolutely not on board.
Instead of hopping off to sleep, the tiny joey launches into the sweetest delay tactic imaginable: nonstop kisses.
Each time his dad reminds him he’s not allowed to stay up late, Roosta responds with more loving smooches, as if he can charm his way into extra playtime. It’s the animal kingdom’s version of “just five more minutes.”
But dad doesn’t budge.

“It doesn’t matter how many times you kiss me. You’re not allowed to stay up,” he tells the determined joey before scooping him up and carrying him off to bed.
Naturally, social media is obsessed. Commenters flooded the post with heart-eyed reactions, with one person writing, “I’d pay to get kisses from this darling creature,” while another joked they were jealous and wished their own pet appreciated hoodie pouches for cuddles.
And honestly, can you blame them?
Beyond his bedtime antics, Roosta is a fascinating little guy. According to his dad, the joey has incredibly powerful hind legs that can launch him several meters in a single bound. His muscular tail helps him balance, and his oversized ears — affectionately dubbed “Bugs Bunny ears” — allow him to detect sounds from far away, a crucial survival skill for kangaroos in the wild.
