You never quite know which animals are going to become best friends. Sometimes the most unlikely pairs end up forming the strongest bonds — and one adorable farm video proves it.
At Brickhouse Farm in Buckfield, Maine, a Maine Coon cat and a friendly donkey have become an internet sensation thanks to their hilarious and heartwarming friendship.
In the viral clip, the fluffy gray Maine Coon doesn’t just walk alongside the donkey — she hops right onto his back like it’s the most normal thing in the world. Draped comfortably across the donkey, the confident cat appears completely relaxed as she enjoys a free ride around the farm.
It’s clear these two spend plenty of time together, because neither of them seems the least bit surprised by the unusual arrangement. The donkey calmly strolls along while his feline passenger lounges on his back like a tiny queen surveying her kingdom.
“Yeee hawww,” the video caption joked — and honestly, it fits the moment perfectly.

Viewers online quickly fell in love with the unexpected duo and filled the comments with jokes about the unusual partnership.
“How does one get into the cat and donkey business? I’m considering a career change,” one person wrote.
“That cat owns that donkey,” another commenter teased.
“The cat got a free ride. It’s on the house,” someone else joked.
Others simply couldn’t get over how adorable the moment was, with one viewer writing, “Omg I’m obsessed with this. Just hitching a ride.”
The donkey actually shares his home with seven Maine Coon cats at the farm, so he’s clearly used to having plenty of furry companions around. According to the farm’s social media page, the cats spend lots of time outdoors and are always getting into playful adventures.
And if this video is any indication, the donkey doesn’t seem to mind being part of their fun.
Maine Coon cats are known for their gentle personalities and social nature, which is one reason they’re such popular pets. These large, fluffy cats often get along well with other animals, including dogs and other cats.
While every pet is different, Maine Coons are generally friendly and adaptable, making them great companions in multi-pet homes.
Still, seeing one happily riding on the back of a donkey? That’s definitely not something you see every day.
