Talk about nine lives… and then some.

A missing kitty named Alfie just pulled off the kind of comeback story you only see in movies — after vanishing for four long years, he was discovered alive… but completely trapped inside a gap barely wider than a few fingers.

Yes, really.

The dramatic rescue unfolded in Portsmouth, England, when a homeowner heard faint meows and made a shocking discovery — a cat wedged deep between two brick walls in a space measuring just over 3 inches wide. Rescuers later found Alfie stuck about five feet down, unable to move.

Cue the emotional rescue mission.

Animal rescuers rushed in and quickly realized this wouldn’t be easy. The tight space made it nearly impossible to reach him, and even special tools couldn’t pull him free. According to rescuers, Alfie was “completely wedged in.”

For five intense hours, crews refused to give up.

In a final, high-stakes effort, they carefully sedated Alfie — racing against time to safely pull him out before the medication could affect his breathing in the cramped space. It took multiple rescuers working together… but somehow, unbelievably, they got him out unharmed.

And that’s when things got even more emotional.

After scanning his microchip, rescuers made a jaw-dropping discovery — this wasn’t just any stray cat. This was Alfie, a beloved pet who had been missing for nearly FOUR YEARS.

His owner, Mandy Davis, had lost him back in 2022 during a move and never thought she’d see him again.

“I couldn’t quite believe it,” she said after getting the call. “It still feels like a blur. We’re all over the moon to have him home.”

Now, Alfie is back where he belongs — curled up in bed, soaking in cuddles, and acting like he never left.

As for how he ended up trapped? Rescuers believe he may have fallen from a roof and slipped into the narrow gap — where he somehow survived for an unknown amount of time.

It’s a wild, heart-stopping story with the sweetest possible ending — and a powerful reminder of just how important microchipping pets can be.

Because sometimes… miracles really do happen. 🐾
