Sometimes the bigger the dog, the gentler the soul, as one English mastiff proved with its confused first encounter with a tiny three-pound kitten.
English Mastiff Otto, three, was introduced to kitten Fritz in an adorable video that was posted online recently. The 200-pound dog looks like a titan when compared to the feline and appeared puzzled by its admittance to the household.
In the clip, which can be below, Fritz was lying on a bed with a confused Otto sitting nearby, seemingly unsure of how he should react. “Doesn’t know what to do,” a caption on the video said.

While their owners had a good laugh among themselves, the kitten jumped down from the bed resulting in an inquisitive sniff from Otto.
According to the American Kennel Club, a male English mastiff stands at least 30 inches at the shoulder and can outweigh a fully grown man.
Eternally loyal, mastiffs are protective of family and have a natural wariness of strangers, which makes “early training and socialization essential,” the AKC added. “Mastiffs are magnificent pets, but acquiring a powerful giant-breed dog is a commitment not to be taken lightly.”
