But the question remains–do baby animals like each other? Sure, newborns stay with their mom and littermates for as long as they need to grow into self-sufficient individuals, but what would happen if baby animals of different species met one another? Luckily, one animal shelter was just as curious as I am to find out!
The SPCA of Wake County, North Carolina took advantage of an opportunity to introduce two of their newest residents to one another, and the interaction couldn’t have been sweeter.
Tiny puppy Hugo was found alone at a gas station shortly before kitten Buck was rescued, but these two lonely hearts made the perfect friends. Their December 6 meet-up is paw-sitively perfect!

OMFG! This is quite possibly the cutest introduction to ever happen, and I feel so lucky that the folks at @spcawake got it on video. The precious rescue animals weren’t too sure what to make of one another at first, but they were fast friends before anyone knew it. Hugo’s persistence paid off when the orange tabby kitten wasn’t feeling super friendly!
Videos like this are fantastic for making people smile and for helping shelter pets get adopted. Just think of how many people in the North Carolina area would want to adopt them if this video went viral! And the best part? Potential adopters would visit the animal shelter, and they just might fall in love with another adoptable pet, too. This is the perfect example of how one popular video can help several dogs and cats find homes.

When you bring two baby animals together and they bond, it’s THE LAW 😄 they should be adopted together 💕 Hope these two go to the same loving home 💖
