When it comes to baby animals, watching them learn and explore the world around them always makes me happy. Their reactions to things are sometimes funny, cute, or even fearful, but they always make me smile.
Located in Alice Springs, Australia, The Kangaroo Sanctuary is home to many orphaned joeys being raised by the humans that care for them.
They shared a video at the end of March showing one of their baby kangaroos being introduced to a bearded dragon, and they whole thing is too cute!
The joey’s name is Euro Stella, and she’s clearly very curious about the weird looking animal standing in front of her, a bearded dragon named Emily. Euro tentatively approaches Emily and sniffs her out. Watch until the end to see what happens next!

@thekangaroosanctuary Our sweet orphan Euro Stella is very curious about this funny looking thing. 😍 It’s Emily our bearded dragon, who thinks she is a joey too. Little Pauline is in the background with Rachel @r.taylor1890 getting a little pat. And yes Kangaroos can hop backwards!

The baby kangaroo’s fast and furious hop backwards and away from the unfazed bearded dragon was adorable! The Kangaroo Sanctuary said in their caption, “And yes, kangaroos can hop backwards!”
