A man who thought he didn’t want a dog instantly changed his mind when he found tiny cockapoo puppy Marlo, and the family has now gone viral for showing their training sessions with the pup.

Marlo the cockapoo, a crossbreed of a miniature poodle and cocker spaniel, joined Andrew Hall’s family just weeks ago.

Hall, 42, said his family have been talking about getting a cockapoo puppy for “years,” and at first Hall was against it—until he found Marlo’s litter, and immediately became wrapped around the puppy’s thumb, describing his pet as “like a fluffy teddybear.”

He explains he had “visions of me sleeping downstairs for the first few nights, being there and comforting [Marlo], but no. From the first day, he has slept in our bed ever since.”

Marlo quickly became a vital part of the Hall family, and despite his young age picked up tricks and obedience training quickly.

A video of Hall’s son, 21-year-old Charlie, has proved popular on Marlo’s dedicated TikTok account @myboymarlo, as hearts melted over the tiny dog’s attempts at successfully completing a training session.

In the clip, Charlie sits cross-legged on the floor with a treat in his hand, urging Marlo to “sit.”

But in his excitement, Marlo does anything but. Instead, he spins around repeatedly, getting more excited each time Charlie loudly urges him: “Sit. Sit!”

Eventually, Charlie is left in peals of laughter, as Marlo keeps spinning in circles.

But the training session ends in success, as Marlo sits, gives the paw, spins on command, lies down—and then waits until he’s given the green light before gobbling up his treat.
