There are parts of dog adoption that will test you. Like those first few days you bring your new buddy home. The change can really rock them. Like it did for one Bernese Mountain Dog, who was so scared when she first went to her new human’s home.
The dog was terrified. But as a video her owner shared shows, the pup gradually learned to trust her humans and it’s such a beautiful thing.

Nala was so scared that first day she was brought home. The poor Berner was cowering in the car, afraid of the people who were now her parents.
We sort of get it. One day you’re hanging out with your littermates and the next you’re with two humans named Laura and Ben. It’s a big change for a dog! As the video shows, the Berner was so shy on that first day. She was shaking! But don’t worry, it didn’t take too long for the dog to get comfortable.
The footage also shows the Bernese Mountain Dog on her fourth day in her new home. The change is drastic. She was crawling all over her new owner. She wasn’t scared anymore!
“She’s come a long way,” her owner joked.
People in the comments section felt for Nala. “We really just kidnap our dogs from their mothers. My dog was terrified when I brought him home too,” one person wrote. “Bringing home a puppy is so bittersweet because you’re happy you got them, but you feel bad for taking them away from their family,” another commenter agreed. “Imagine how scary it is to be taken away from what you know,” someone else chimed in.
