Some people can’t hide their emotions; you can tell exactly how they feel just by looking at their face. The same goes for some pets, too. Merlin the Ragdoll cat is a perfect example. Just look at his adorable, angry face and you will think that he’s mad about something (and a lot of the time he is!) But what doesn’t match Merlin’s angry face is his meow. You’ve got to hear it to believe it!

Merlin’s mom shared a video recently of Merlin sitting next to her. You’ll want to make sure your sound is on for this one. Merlin is begging for a treat, and he looks like he’s already upset that he even has to ask for it. But just wait for his meow – it sounds like the total opposite of what his face looks like!

WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW:

Merlin’s mom says in the caption that his roar “comes out disguised as a chirp,” and she’s not wrong! If I had to pick a meow sound out for him, that’s not the sound he would make!

Commenters were just as surprised as I was by Merlin’s meow and left hundreds of comments. @Jannissas said simply, “Controversial.” and @kinkycoilycool added, “He meows in lower case LOL!”

@bittercatherine described the meow as a “”Give me food peasant” kind of meow.” and another pointed out, “He has it modified to hide his true power…”

My favorite comment came from @bolo_4_lolo who shared, “I was expecting Leo the Lion from MGM films but big man sound like a 3-week-old female kitty!”
