A mom was just trying to run a bath for her 6-year-old child — but their family dog had other plans.
In a now-viral short, but hilarious clip posted by @kpopthelab, the mom walks into the bathroom only to find Kendal, the family’s 9-year-old black labrador, already stretched out in the tub, completely relaxed and living her best life. The hilarious moment was captioned: “When you run a bath for your 6 year old human but your 9 year old wannabe human has other ideas.”

With an audio clip of “Splish Splash (I Was Taking a Bath)” playing in the background, the video quickly won over viewers. Kendal looks perfectly content soaking up the warm water, seemingly unaware that bath time wasn’t meant for her.
According to the owner’s TikTok bio, Kendal is named after a town in Northwest England and is known for her love of barking, licking, scratching — and apparently, bathing. And while it might seem like unusual behavior, it turns out this tub takeover is pretty on-brand for a Labrador.
The American Kennel Club explains that Labs are not only incredibly affectionate and family-friendly but also famously obsessed with water. Originally bred to retrieve fishing nets and game from the water, Labradors have webbed paws, water-resistant coats, and strong tails designed for swimming. So it’s no surprise Kendal made herself right at home in the bath.
The video has racked up over 150,000 views and 13,000 likes, with fellow Lab owners chiming in. “My lab does the same. My 5yo will get in with him and proceed to wash him,” one user wrote. Another joked, “Oldest goes first.”
