One blue Staffy from Australia is proving that absence really does make the heart grow fonder—especially when it comes to her beloved grandparents.

Holly, a blue Staffordshire bull terrier from Melbourne, has gone viral after her owner posted a heart-melting video of her reuniting with her “grandpawrents” after just two weeks apart. The clip, shared on Instagram by @hollythebluestaffy, shows Holly wagging her tail with intense anticipation outside their home. But once that door buzzes open? Pure chaos—in the best way possible.

The moment she’s let in, Holly launches herself across the living room, leaping onto the couch and covering both grandparents in kisses like she hasn’t seen them in years. Layover text on the video reads: “Visiting the grandpawrents after two weeks away,” and honestly, it says it all.

Her owner’s caption explained the whole backstory: “Two weeks away from the Grandparents is a lifetime apparently… Holly is the most placid dog on earth at home… so I hope this video makes you feel seen.”

He added that his parents love the attention. “If I walk Holly into their house with her leashed they get upset at me, so if they are happy, and Holly is happy, I’m happy.”

Speaking to Newsweek, Holly’s owner—who preferred to remain anonymous—said the bond between Holly and her grandparents started from day one. “My parents are dog lovers, and our family dog used to be exactly like this. Some people say Holly shouldn’t be jumping all over them, but honestly, my parents wouldn’t have it any other way.”

At her grandparents’ house, Holly is the queen of the castle. She gets away with all kinds of things—including secret snack stashes her owner pretends not to know about.

And yes, it’s true that dogs can have multiple “favorite” humans. Holly might be her owner’s shadow at home, but when it comes to grandma and grandpa, it’s all about the cuddles, kisses, and full-blown excitement.

The reunion video has already racked up over 24,000 likes and tons of emotional reactions.

“Little buddy just couldn’t stand it! I need to get in there and see my peeps!” one user commented.

“Awwww she loves them soooo much!!! Such joy!!!” another added.

And one commenter, who said her own mom is afraid of Staffies, wrote: “It warms my heart to see this Grammy love on her furgrand.”

One thing’s for sure: for Holly, grandparents are more than family—they’re her absolute favorite people in the world.
