Meet Gary, the pint-sized thrill-seeker of the feline world who’s found a new favorite napping spot: a homemade cat bridge suspended two floors above ground. While most cats might use the bridge to travel from one side of the hallway to the other, Gary prefers to lounge mid-air like it’s the coziest bed in the house — much to the concern of his human dad, Abram.
In a now-viral video, Abram can be seen gently coaxing sleepy little Gary back to solid ground. But Gary? He’s in no rush. He lets out an adorably slow-motion yawn that just might melt your heart before casually strolling back like he owns the place — which, let’s be honest, he kind of does.

Gary’s death-defying nap spot has taken the internet by storm, racking up nearly 1,000 comments from amused cat lovers.
“Gary likes living life on the edge,” joked @m_459_, earning more than 40,000 likes.
“I just know Gary keeps you on your toes at all times!” added @Inaya Masuri.
Commenters totally understood Gary’s logic, too.
“It’s up high, the back is protected, and they can see everything,” noted @CS_Spoons. “Yeah, this is an A+ cat place to lay!”
Others couldn’t resist teasing Abram about creating the very setup he’s now worried about.
“Abram: hangs cat bridge. Cat: goes onto cat bridge. Abram: No! LOL!” wrote @NotHerRealName.
And @iris chimed in with, “‘You’re the one that put it there.’ — Gary.”
Despite his tiny size, Gary has zero fear when it comes to heights. But do cats really experience fear the same way humans do?
According to PetMD, they definitely do — and there’s a long list of common cat fears, including loud noises, strangers, water, vet visits, and even… cucumbers. But fearless fluffballs like Gary prove that each cat has their own unique personality, and sometimes that includes a taste for high-stakes naps.
For cats who are more anxious, experts recommend gradual exposure to new sounds and environments while they’re young — a process known as desensitization. With the right approach, even the most timid kitty can build confidence.
But as for Gary? He’s clearly already braver than most. Let’s just hope Abram’s nerves can keep up.
