Cats and dogs may have a reputation for being natural enemies, but anyone who’s lived with both knows the rivalry is often overblown. In fact, some cats and dogs become the very best of friends — even inseparable.
Take Junie the Golden Retriever and Monkey the Tabby Cat, for example. These two are total adventure buddies, and their favorite activity is going on hikes together.

In a video that’s been melting hearts online, Junie and Monkey can be seen strolling side-by-side along a misty trail, perfectly in sync as if they’ve done this a hundred times before. Sure, they wander off now and then to explore something interesting, but they always come back to each other — often with a sweet cuddle before continuing on their way.
The cutest part comes after the hike, when the pair curl up together on the couch for a nap. They look completely at ease and so naturally bonded, proving that sometimes the strongest friendships come in the most unexpected forms.
