Aaron Jackson, co-founder of the nonprofit Planting Peace, has spent years rescuing and advocating for Asian elephants, but even he says he’s still surprised by new experiences. Recently, Jackson shared a video on the @planting_peace TikTok of the tiniest baby elephant he’s ever seen.
In the post, Jackson wrote, “While filming for our potential next rescue, I looked over and saw a tiny baby in the corner of my eye, the smallest elephant I’ve ever seen.” Viewers quickly fell in love with the newborn calf.

The baby, just 20 hours old at the time, appeared to be in shock, according to Jackson. “What a blessing for me to see such a new baby. I wish this were in the wild,” he added. The video shows the calf living in captivity alongside its mother. Jackson said he plans to keep a close eye on them and gather more information about their situation.
Social media commenters expressed both awe and concern. @jennyluvzjupiter wrote, “Absolutely breaks my heart! Mom and baby should be roaming free,” while @cloudeleven.11 added, “I hope they both are rescued soon.” Another commenter, @pyrettablaze3, thanked Jackson for his efforts and expressed hope that he could help free the pair.
