Tammy the Golden Retriever has earned a hilarious nickname from her owner — the “World’s Worst Guard Dog” — and one adorable video shows exactly why.

Tammy lives at Flourish Farm, where her owner Susie has given her one simple job: don’t let the ducks or ducklings inside the house. Unfortunately, Tammy doesn’t seem very interested in enforcing that rule.

In a viral clip, Tammy can be seen lying right next to a slightly open back door leading to the yard. Two curious ducks slowly peek through the doorway, checking to see if the coast is clear.

Tammy notices them immediately.

But instead of jumping up or blocking the door, the relaxed Golden Retriever simply watches as the ducks carefully waddle past her in hopes of finding snacks inside the house.

The ducks successfully make it past Tammy — but their victory is short-lived.

Susie quickly spots them and rushes them right back outside before they can explore any further.

In the caption, Susie jokingly referred to the moment as another chapter in the “Chronicles of the World’s Worst Guard Dog.”

And honestly, Tammy can’t really be blamed. The ducks are pretty cute.

Viewers loved the laid-back dog’s reaction and flooded the comments with jokes about her very relaxed approach to security.

“Perfect guard dog — didn’t even blink an eye!” one commenter joked.

Another person added, “Hairy: 100%. Dangerous: 0.5%.”

One viewer pointed out Tammy was simply living up to her breed’s reputation.

“This is a retriever,” they wrote. “She will retrieve… eventually.”

Another commenter joked that Tammy might as well have rolled out a red carpet for the ducks.

While Golden Retrievers can have a loud bark, they aren’t exactly known for being tough guard dogs. Experts say the friendly breed is more likely to greet visitors than scare them away.

Golden Retrievers are incredibly loyal and attentive to their families, but they tend to rely more on their presence and alert barking than direct confrontation.

In other words, they’re great companions and watchdogs — but probably not the best choice if you’re hoping for a strict security guard.

Tammy, however, seems perfectly happy letting the ducks do their thing.
