That nightmare became real for one couple traveling across the country when their dog disappeared during a routine stop in Colorado.
Steven Maa and his partner Kate were in the middle of moving to California when their 11-year-old dog, Rocky, ran off during a pit stop in Summit County. What was supposed to be a quick break turned into a heartbreaking ordeal.
Desperate to find their missing pup, the couple turned to Summit Lost Pet Rescue, a nonprofit organization that specializes in helping reunite lost pets with their families.
Volunteers spent weeks searching the area, refusing to give up hope.
After an exhausting 43 days, Rocky was finally found.
The emotional reunion between Rocky and his owner quickly melted hearts online.
