An unlikely friendship between a black cat and a majestic Friesian horse is melting hearts online after a touching moment between the two animals went viral.
The adorable clip, shared on TikTok by user @elviravandeputte, shows the small black cat perched comfortably on a fence at a horse ranch. In the video, the feline leans forward and gently head-butts the much larger horse standing beside it.
The horse calmly stands there, clearly enjoying the attention as the cat continues making soft, affectionate gestures. The peaceful interaction looks more like two old friends greeting each other than animals from completely different worlds.
According to the person who posted the video, their sweet bond didn’t start recently. The pair have actually been close companions for years and spend a lot of time together around the ranch.

“This Friesian horse and cat have been friends for years now. They really like each other and are often together,” Elvira, who lives in the Netherlands, told Newsweek.
She also shared an even more touching detail about their relationship. Shortly after the video was taken, the horse needed to visit the vet because of a leg problem.
Elvira said the cat seemed to sense something was wrong.
“The day after I took this video, the horse had to visit the vet because of a leg issue,” she explained. “The cat stayed extra close and was petting her in a way she hadn’t before. Maybe she felt the horse needed some extra support.”
The sweet moment quickly captured the attention of viewers across social media.
Since being posted, the video has racked up more than 8.5 million views and nearly a million likes on TikTok.
