But one Golden Retriever took things to a whole new level after his owners discovered he had been secretly running a sock-stealing operation right under their noses.
On March 4, Brew’s owners made a shocking discovery when they moved a couch cushion and uncovered what can only be described as the dog’s “secret stash.” Hidden behind the cushion was a growing pile of socks that Brew had apparently been stealing for weeks — maybe even months.
Instead of looking guilty after getting caught, Brew seemed incredibly proud of his collection. In a video shared online, the happy Golden Retriever stands beside his stash with his tail wagging, clearly thrilled that his secret treasure has finally been revealed.
With his adorable face and playful personality, it’s hard for anyone to stay mad at him.

Viewers online quickly jumped in to defend the clever pup.

Despite being caught red-pawed, Brew didn’t seem worried in the slightest. He happily wagged his tail as if showing off all the hard work he had put into building his sock empire.
His owner later joked that Brew had been “grounded” for the sock-stealing habit — although anyone who has owned a dog knows it’s nearly impossible to discipline a pup that cute.
Many viewers were also left wondering how the family managed to lose so many socks without noticing.

Maybe the socks all looked the same. Or maybe Brew had simply gotten very good at his sneaky operation.
