A Bernese Mountain Dog puppy in California is going viral for proving that you do not need to look intimidating to protect the house.

The adorable pup, Hazel, was caught on home security footage doing what seemed like absolutely nothing heroic at first. In the clip, she is stretched out in the living room watching TV, surrounded by toys, and wearing a pink diaper — basically the least threatening crime-fighting outfit imaginable.

Then everything changes.

Hazel suddenly hears a strange noise coming from outside and goes into full investigation mode. At first, she slowly gets up and looks around, seeming to wonder if the sound is coming from the television. But once she realizes it is not, her whole vibe shifts.

The sleepy little puppy instantly turns serious.

Seconds later, Hazel starts barking loudly toward the source of the noise, and according to the video, that was enough to scare off would-be thieves who were trying to steal a bike outside the home.

Yes, really.

I did turn the sound up on the outside noise and turned down the volume on her barking, but not sure how we didn’t hear anything 💤 If only they knew the bark came from a dog in a pink diaper 😂 🐕 #bernesemountaindog #guarddog #ringcamera #dogs

The video’s caption explains the hilarious scene perfectly: Hazel apparently managed to send the thieves running, all while still wearing her pink diaper. Her owner also joked that the outside noise had been turned up and Hazel’s barking turned down in the video, adding that it is still hard to believe nobody inside the house heard what was happening.

And honestly, the funniest part may be imagining the thieves having no clue that the fierce bark they heard was actually coming from a baby dog dressed like she had just come from nap time.

That contrast is exactly why the internet cannot get enough of her.

Since being posted, the clip has racked up more than 330,000 views and over 54,000 likes, with viewers falling hard for Hazel’s mix of cuteness and unexpected bravery.

One person praised her detective work, pointing out how she peeked toward the window, checked the TV, and then sprang into action like a tiny professional.

Another commenter loved the whole pretty-but-powerful energy of the moment, while someone else cracked up over how fast the suspected thieves seemed to stop the second Hazel let out that first bark.

And really, who can blame them?

They may not have seen her pink diaper, but Hazel clearly made one thing known: this house was under her watch.
