Picking up your dog from daycare usually means a wagging tail, a little chaos, and a sleepy ride home. But one pet parent got something way more hilarious when he showed up—and the internet can’t get enough of it.
When Tony Nichols arrived to grab his corgi, Chip, he peeked through the glass into the play area and immediately burst out laughing. Right in the middle of the room, Chip was sprawled out flat on his back, paws up in the air, completely relaxed like he owned the place. While other dogs moved around him, Chip didn’t even flinch—he looked like he had zero plans to get up anytime soon.
Tony started recording the moment to send to his wife, Laarni, who posts on TikTok as @misskira2525. Still trying to process what he was seeing, he laughed and said, “What the heck is this?”
According to Laarni, this wasn’t normal behavior—at least not in public. “We’ve only seen Chip in that position at home when he’s asleep and relaxed, never at daycare,” she explained. “That’s why Tony was so surprised. It was the first time he’d ever done that there.”
But just as quickly as Chip melted into the floor, everything changed.

In a split second, the laid-back corgi flipped the switch. He rolled over, jumped up, and instantly went into full play mode—darting around and barking with another dog. That pup was later identified as Lily, a daycare regular lovingly nicknamed “Lily the Barker.”
Staff told the couple the two are actually best friends who spend their days chasing each other and matching energy nonstop.
Then came the sweetest moment of all.
The second Chip spotted his dad through the glass, his whole demeanor changed again. He locked eyes, flashed what looked like a full-on smile, and suddenly seemed laser-focused on one thing—going home.
The video, posted on April 13, quickly blew up online, pulling in over 636,000 views and more than 114,000 likes. Viewers couldn’t get over Chip’s dramatic lounging pose and his instant personality shift.
“Are you kidding me with the literal smile when he sees you?” one commenter wrote.
Another joked, “That’s corgi core. Mine spends more time on his back than on his feet.”
Some viewers questioned whether the play looked a little rough, but others quickly shut that down, saying it’s totally normal for corgis to flop onto their backs during playtime.
“They’re just being silly together,” one user added. “So cute.”
Laarni agreed, keeping it simple: Chip was just being himself—and having the time of his life.
