A baby deer rescue is always sweet, but this one came with an extra heart-melting surprise.
A woman named Olivia Baldwin recently saved a tiny fawn that had gotten stuck in a sewer grate, and after the little deer was finally free, it did not want to leave her side.
The rescue happened on May 25 and was shared on Olivia’s TikTok account, @liviloodoodoo. While it is unclear who was behind the camera, the person filming captured the kind of moment animal lovers dream of seeing.
The video shows the tiny fawn trapped in the sewer grate and clearly in need of help. Olivia quickly stepped in and carefully worked to free the frightened baby.
One detail viewers especially appreciated was that she used her jacket while handling the fawn. That helped protect the baby deer and reduced the chance of leaving too much human scent behind.
Once Olivia got the fawn out, the little deer seemed to decide she was safe.
Instead of immediately running away, the baby began following her.
The sight was almost too cute to handle. One moment, the fawn was stuck and scared. The next, it was trotting behind the woman who had just rescued it, almost like it thought Olivia was its new mom.

Viewers immediately fell in love with the clip.
“How does it feel to live my dream?” one commenter named Katie asked.
Plenty of people were jealous of Olivia’s up-close encounter with the adorable baby animal. But others were also worried about whether the fawn would make it back to its real mother.
Thankfully, Olivia reportedly led the baby deer right back to its mom.
That update made the rescue even better. The fawn was saved, comforted by a kind human, and then returned where it belonged.
One viewer summed up the moment perfectly, imagining the fawn thinking, “Basically, she was the human that saved my life.”
Another commenter pointed out that baby deer can sometimes attach themselves to whoever helps them if they cannot find their mother right away.
That seemed to be exactly what happened here.
The little fawn may have been scared and confused, but it clearly knew Olivia had helped. For a few precious moments, it followed her like she was the safest thing in the world.
Animal rescues are not always caught on video because helping the animal usually comes first. But sometimes, the right person is in the right place at the right time, and someone nearby happens to hit record.
This time, the internet got to watch a trapped baby deer go from helpless to free, then thank its rescuer in the sweetest way possible.
For Olivia, it was a simple act of kindness.
For the fawn, it may have meant everything.
