Most Golden Retrievers are happiest when they are anywhere near the water, but one pup named Aspen took her love of swimming to an entirely new level.
What began as a simple attempt to grab a tennis ball quickly turned into an impressive underwater performance as Aspen dove nose-first into the deep end of a pool.
The video begins with two dogs already in the water while another Golden Retriever watches from the side. All three appear focused on one very important mission: getting the tennis ball from the bottom of the pool.
As one dog swims back toward the shallow end, Aspen decides to take over.
She dives straight down, disappearing beneath the surface as she searches for the ball.
Within seconds, Aspen is completely vertical, with her back legs and tiny paws sticking straight up out of the water.
After performing a graceful underwater flip, the athletic pup rises back to the surface with the yellow tennis ball proudly clenched in her mouth.
Her canine friends watch from nearby as Aspen completes the rescue like a seasoned professional.

Viewers were delighted by her unusual technique and perfectly pointed paws.
“The little pointed paws,” one person wrote.
“What a show-off doing puppy pirouettes!” another viewer joked.
A third added, “Those little back paws in the air. ADORABLE.”
Others said Aspen looked like she was practicing a synchronized swimming routine and might be only a few moves away from competing in the Olympics.
For Aspen, however, the real prize was much simpler: getting the tennis ball for herself and her friends.
