Being a livestock guardian dog is serious business, but Daisy the Great Pyrenees apparently has one very adorable weakness.

His name is Meatloaf.

The rescued baby cow has completely won over the hardworking farm dog, and one sweet moment between the unlikely best friends is melting hearts online.

Daisy normally takes her job on the Arizona farm very seriously, keeping a close eye on the animals around her. But whenever Meatloaf comes looking for attention, her professional attitude seems to disappear.

In an adorable video shared by @graceandgrainbakery on August 2, Daisy can be seen showering the little calf with affection. She gently nuzzles and kisses Meatloaf while wagging her tail, looking less like his guardian and more like an extremely proud mom.

The affection clearly goes both ways.

Meatloaf happily leans into Daisy and seems perfectly content to soak up every bit of attention she has to offer. Their owner believes the calf may especially enjoy the pressure around his growing horns, comparing it to the relief a teething baby gets from chewing on something.

Daisy also gives Meatloaf a kind of one-on-one attention that he simply doesn’t get from the other cows.

Viewers couldn’t get enough of the unusual friendship.

“I love when dogs get their own pets,” commenter @bysarahmadeline wrote.

It certainly looks that way. Although Daisy is technically supposed to be watching over the farm animals, Meatloaf appears to have become something much more than another member of the herd.

He may just be her baby.

The pair’s bond is especially sweet considering Meatloaf’s story. Despite his rather suspicious-sounding name, Meatloaf is a beloved rescue cow who is safe and treasured on the Arizona farm.

So there’s no need to worry about where his name came from.

Meatloaf definitely isn’t becoming meatloaf anytime soon.

Instead, it looks like he’ll be spending his days getting spoiled by his very own fluffy Great Pyrenees best friend.
