A woman got an unforgettable front-row seat to one of nature’s sweetest moments after discovering a mama squirrel giving birth just outside her window.

Mrs. H, who shares videos on TikTok as @seatz98, spotted the squirrel tucked into a nest close enough to her home that she could watch the new mother care for her tiny babies.

In the adorable footage, the mama carefully cleans one newborn, checks it over and settles down as the baby tries to nurse.

And that was only the beginning.

Shortly after the video was recorded, the squirrel gave birth to another baby.

Mrs. H has continued sharing updates since the original video was filmed at the end of July, giving viewers a rare look at the babies as they grow.

She has posted clips showing them at 14 days old, three weeks old and even more recently.

The tiny squirrels are already getting noticeably bigger.

Viewers quickly became obsessed with the unusual view.

One commenter who said they rescue squirrels explained just how rare it is to see a mother and her babies this closely in the wild.

“You’re so lucky, as someone who rescues these little guys, we rarely get to see them in their homes with their mother up close like this,” the viewer wrote.

Another commenter admitted they would probably spend the entire day staring out the window.

“I fear I would be the most unproductive person ever because I would just stare all day at this,” they joked.

And judging by the reaction online, plenty of other people would do exactly the same.

How long do baby squirrels stay with their mom?

According to Halton Wildlife Services, newborn squirrels are only about an inch long and are born blind and deaf.

A squirrel litter can typically include between two and eight babies.

The newborns remain tucked safely inside their nest for roughly six weeks before they begin venturing outside for short periods.

Even then, they are not ready to live on their own.

Young squirrels generally remain dependent on their mother until they are around two to three months old.

During those final weeks together, Mom teaches them the survival skills they will need before they eventually leave the nest.

That means Mrs. H may still have plenty of adorable moments ahead.

And with a view like this right outside the window, it would be pretty hard to get anything else done.
