There is something especially funny about a kitten trying to act tough when it is barely bigger than a potato.
One tiny Ragdoll kitten is winning over animal lovers after attempting to intimidate a very patient Golden Retriever with what may be the smallest hiss ever captured on camera.
The adorable moment was shared by Pearl’s Ragdolls and shows several newborn kittens snuggled beside a Golden Retriever named Lucy.
Most of the babies appear perfectly content.
One kitten, however, apparently has a few concerns about sharing space with such an enormous furry neighbor.
With its eyes still closed and its tiny body practically disappearing beside Lucy, the newborn suddenly opens its mouth and lets out a miniature hiss in the dog’s direction.
It is meant to sound threatening.
It absolutely does not.
One viewer came up with the perfect description, saying the baby was “hissing in lowercase.”
That may be the most accurate way possible to describe it.
Lucy, meanwhile, could not look less impressed.
The Golden Retriever stays completely relaxed beside the kittens while the tiny troublemaker tries again.
Someone behind the camera can even be heard joking that the kitten’s hissing is “not that scary.”
Lucy seems to agree.
She barely reacts at all.
That only makes the kitten’s confidence even funnier.
Despite being newborn-sized, the little cat appears completely convinced it is capable of putting a full-grown Golden Retriever in its place.

Viewers quickly fell in love with the enormous amount of attitude packed inside such a tiny body.
One person joked about the kitten already having an attitude despite only recently being born.
Another summed it up perfectly as “big hisses, smol baby.”
Others were just as charmed by Lucy.
Golden Retrievers are known for their gentle, social personalities, and Lucy appears perfectly happy to lie beside the babies while they crawl around and complain at her.
She does not bark, move away or seem bothered by the kitten’s tiny warning.
Instead, she simply lets the little one express its feelings.
The scene is a sweet reminder that animals do not need to be the same species to become comfortable around one another.
For these kittens, Lucy may look enormous now.
Before long, though, they will be running around, climbing furniture and probably causing far more trouble than one tiny hiss ever could.
For the moment, this little kitten seems satisfied with practicing its toughest impression from the safety of Lucy’s side.
And Lucy?
She looks like she knows perfectly well that she has absolutely nothing to worry about.
