Who says dogs are the only animals that get excited when their favorite person comes home? One adorable Highland cow is proving that even the biggest farm animals can have the heart of a playful puppy!
In a heartwarming video making the rounds online, a massive Highland cow spots his beloved caretaker and immediately decides it’s time for a reunion.
And he isn’t about to take his time getting there!
The shaggy-haired giant comes charging across the field with all the enthusiasm of a Golden Retriever greeting its owner after a long day apart.
With his fluffy coat bouncing and his enormous body moving surprisingly fast, the excited cow seems completely unaware that he’s considerably bigger than the person he’s rushing to greet.

It’s the kind of enthusiastic welcome you’d expect from a tiny puppy, not an animal that can weigh well over 1,000 pounds!
What makes the moment especially funny is how determined the cow appears to be. There’s no hesitation or leisurely stroll. Once he spots his human, he’s on his way!
Highland cattle are famous for their long, shaggy coats, impressive horns and generally calm dispositions. Originally from Scotland, these hardy animals are also known for being curious and developing familiarity with the people who care for them.
And while this big fellow’s excitement is absolutely adorable, his size is a good reminder that even friendly cattle need to be approached with care. An enthusiastic greeting from an animal that large can be quite a surprise!
Still, it’s hard not to smile watching this fluffy giant act like an oversized family dog.
He might have the horns of a Highland cow and the weight of a small car, but when it comes to greeting his favorite human, he’s clearly just a big, lovable puppy at heart!
