It’s hard to imagine why anyone would abandon a dog, let alone a puppy, but this unfortunate situation happens every day.
Thankfully, there are tons of generous people out there who would drop everything to help an animal in need. From good Samaritans to shelter volunteers and even veterinary staff, it brings me some comfort to know there are so many animal advocates out there.
After all, it takes a whole team to help pets find their perfect homes!
When a tiny Chihuahua named Gizmo was abandoned at a vet’s office, everyone in the building rallied in support of the tiny puppy.
The rescue pup started to get stronger after round-the-clock care and lots of love. Eventually, he was healthy enough to have a sleepover with one of the vet office workers, who quickly became his forever person.

This little baby is so adorable! It’s hard to believe that @_gizmo_thenaughty_chichi is 2 years old now, but he’s just as cute as he was as a pint-sized puppy. In fact, it doesn’t seem like he’s grown much at all!
Tiny dogs, like Chihuahuas and Yorkshire Terriers, are sometimes at risk for extra health problems due to irresponsible breeding.
It’s possible that someone abandoned Gizmo as a puppy if they thought he was having medical issues. This would explain why they chose to drop him off at a veterinarian’s office, but it does not justify their actions.
Considering the tiny puppy’s history, though, we’re so relieved that he’s in a safe and loving forever home.
It’s just a bonus that his new mom works in a vet’s office! Gizmo’s health and well-being are well looked after, especially since he visits regularly with his rescuer mom.
It sure seems like this dog has got it made, and we couldn’t be happier for him!
