As the head coach of a professional sports team, it’s important to help your players find a healthy balance between hard work and self-care. After all, an athlete’s choices outside of the game affect their performance just as much as the competition itself! Everyone needs a pick-me-up from time to time, whether it’s in the form of an extra hour of sleep or a visit from a furry friend.
Seattle Kraken head coach Dan Bylsma knew exactly what he was doing when he brought his Golden Retriever named Duchess to the rink for a post-practice media session on January 22. The former National Hockey League player has been coaching since 2004, so it’s safe to say that he’s a well-respected veteran of the game. He can seamlessly transition from head coach to dog dad, and it seems like Duchess is comfortable in front of the media, too. She knows what a superstar she is!

This is too cute! we can’t get over how fluffy Duchess is, though she didn’t seem concerned about the tight squeeze of the media room. Her tail was wagging the entire time, and she even put down her toy so everyone could get a look at her beautiful face. Clearly, she’s been here before!
Golden Retrievers are famous for being some of the sweetest and friendliest dogs in the world, and Duchess is no exception. She is such a polite pup, even while crashing her dad’s big interview, and she doesn’t mind carrying her own bathroom bags on her leash. Is there anything she can’t do? Clearly, she enchanted an entire room simply by existing, and fans are already requesting to see her again. After rising to stardom so quickly, we are sure she’ll be back!
