Fostering an animal is always, always, worth it. But that doesn’t mean it’s not without its challenges. Some dogs really need time and patience in a new environment. But that’s where a really good foster parent comes in. Vet tech Kelly Sayer deserves a lot of praise for the way she healed the blind, deaf, and abused French Bulldog she took into her care. The dog is doing so much better now!

While she’s not out of the woods just yet, Sayer herself will tell you that she’s “in awe” of the progress the dog has made.

In the video she shared online, it shows the Frenchie when she first came to live with Sayer and her family. The poor thing was petrified. Which is understandable once you know her tragic story.

“On December 17th I got a call from a vet hospital saying a momma dog was just left by her greeder [greedy breeders] after her c-section resulted in four deceased babies,” the woman explained in her post.

Acting quickly, the French Bulldog was taken in by Roadogs Rescue, who then reached out to Sayer to foster.

“When I picked her up I quickly realized she was completely blind and completely deaf, skinny as a rail and horrifically scared,” she recalled. “This poor dog had endured years of trauma and living scared,” she added. But soon that would change. And now the dog’s before-and-after has touched so many people all over the internet.

“It’s so incredible to see how far she’s come. You and Landon are truly miracle workers,” wrote one person in the comments section. “Am in awe of what you achieve with your fosters – you are amazing,” praised another person. “Really shows how impactful creating a routine and providing a home full of love just can be,” gushed someone else.
