Meet Gunnar, a beloved senior Dachshund and one-third of the adorable trio known as Thor, Gunnar, and Floki—affectionately dubbed The Dachsons by their devoted mom. These sausage-shaped sweethearts are living their best lives, but Gunnar’s recent health journey had his family on edge.
After dealing with concerning calcium levels that could’ve indicated a serious illness, Gunnar’s preliminary scans came back clear of cancer. Cue the happy tears—and the trip to pick up a celebratory pup cup!
Gunnar’s face lit up with pure joy as he dove into the icy treat, savoring every lick like the champ he is. And can you blame him? After weeks of worry, this moment was more than earned.

While Gunnar isn’t totally in the clear just yet—he’s set for surgery on April 29 to remove a benign tumor and some bladder stones—his outlook is bright, and his spirit is clearly unshaken. His fans (and we’re proudly included) are rooting hard for a smooth recovery and maybe another pup cup or two once he’s back on his paws.
