Traveling to a new country can bring a mix of excitement and nerves — but sometimes all it takes is one sweet moment to make you feel completely at home. Especially when that moment involves an unexpectedly friendly animal.
Traveler @lanlan.li regularly shares snapshots and videos from her adventures around the world, and during a visit to the picturesque village of Grindelwald in the Swiss Alps, she was greeted by the most adorable local imaginable: a baby cow who clearly believed it was part of the welcome committee.
As Lanlan arrived, the tiny calf came trotting right up to her, bell jingling, eager to say hello. The whole interaction looks straight out of a fairy tale — green fields, towering mountains, and a curious little cow who seems genuinely thrilled to meet a new friend.

Viewers couldn’t get enough of the sweet moment and wished the clip lasted longer. The calf’s cheerful energy and confident approach made it impossible not to smile.
“My hike would go from 2 hours to 6 immediately,” one commenter joked, perfectly capturing how hard it would be to walk away from that face. Lanlan herself admitted she got distracted by the cows along the way, which honestly feels unavoidable under the circumstances.
Watching the calf run up for attention reminded many viewers of an overly friendly puppy, especially when it appeared eager for pets. Clearly, this little cow is well practiced at charming strangers — something dog lovers found especially relatable.
One commenter summed it up perfectly: “This is someone’s grass puppy. That bell is a farmland GPS.” Cute and practical. If the calf decides to wander off greeting tourists, at least the farmer will always know where it is.
