Snow has been popping up in places across the U.S. that don’t normally see much of it — and while a lot of humans are over the shoveling and freezing temps, some animals are absolutely living for it.
Just ask one adorable senior Munchkin cat who recently experienced her very first snow day. And honestly? The curiosity was off the charts.
Her humans shared a short clip of her big moment on TikTok, and it’s almost too cute to handle. Bundled up in the tiniest sweater, the little cat steps out into the snow like she’s entering a whole new world. You can practically see the wheels turning in her head as she tests each paw on the cold, fluffy ground.
Even though she’d never seen snow before, she didn’t panic. She explored. She sniffed. She did the most precious little foot flicks as she tried to figure out what exactly was happening beneath her toes.

“The little feet flicks! That’s what we do too when going out in the snow,” one person commented, with the cat’s parent replying, “That’s my favorite part, it’s so cute!”
Another joked that it looked like “little snowy quicksand,” while someone else perfectly summed up her expression: “She said, ‘Hey, Mom, are you nuts?’”
It’s safe to say this tiny explorer stole the internet’s heart.
How to Keep Cats Safe in the Snow
Not every cat is going to be thrilled about stepping into a winter wonderland. But if you do want to let your kitty check it out, there are a few simple precautions to keep things safe and cozy.
Always supervise them outside — just like this Munchkin’s humans did. Snow can be exciting, but it can also be cold and overwhelming. Make sure your cat has a warm, comfortable spot waiting inside so they can retreat and warm up right away.
If you don’t have a cat door, it’s best to only let them out when you’re home and able to bring them back in quickly. Short trips are key. And don’t forget fresh water — hydration is just as important in winter as it is in summer.
