A fearless little dachshund is winning hearts online after a video of her confidently jumping straight into the ocean went viral on TikTok.
The clip, shared on February 22 by TikTok user @tanishakiem, shows a black-and-tan dachshund standing on seaside steps before suddenly launching herself into the clear blue water below. Within moments, the tiny dog pops back up and begins paddling around comfortably while her owner watches nearby.
The short video quickly caught people’s attention, racking up more than 111,000 views and over 19,000 likes as viewers reacted to the dog’s surprising bravery.
Another dachshund can be seen at the top of the stairs in the clip, staying on a leash and clearly unsure about joining the adventure. The two pups appear to be on vacation with their family, adding to the relaxed, sunny vibe of the moment.

Part of what made the video so entertaining is that dachshunds aren’t usually known for being strong swimmers. The breed was originally developed to hunt badgers, and their short legs and long bodies often make people assume they prefer to stay far away from deep water.

Instead of hesitating at the edge, she bounds into the sea without a second thought, quickly resurfacing and swimming around like a natural.
