Introducing a new puppy to an older dog can be a little unpredictable.

Sometimes, the older dog is not thrilled about sharing the house with a tiny newcomer. Other times, the puppy is the one who needs a minute to adjust to a much bigger, fluffier sibling staring right at them.

That was exactly what happened when Alaskan Malamutes June Bug and Tilly met for the first time.

Their first introduction was not exactly calm and cuddly.

Poor little June Bug seemed completely overwhelmed by Tilly, her much larger canine sister. The tiny pup cried like she had just been placed in the middle of a major emergency.

She had no idea who this big fluffy dog was. Why was Tilly staring at her? What did she want? Was June Bug in trouble?

The little puppy howled and cried until her human mom stepped in and separated them.

At first glance, it may not have looked like the beginning of a beautiful friendship. But thankfully, first impressions are not everything.

Once June Bug and Tilly had time to get used to each other, everything changed.

The nervous little puppy and her big sister slowly became inseparable. Before long, they were walking around the backyard together, eating together, napping together, and playing like two best friends who had known each other forever.

Their playtime is especially adorable.

June Bug runs and jumps all over Tilly like her big sister is a living jungle gym. She climbs on her, tumbles around her, and acts like the biggest dog in the yard, even though Tilly is clearly the larger and fluffier one.

Tilly, for her part, seems happy to let the tiny pup be dramatic, playful, and completely ridiculous.

It is the kind of sibling bond that dog lovers understand immediately.

Viewers on social media could not get enough of the pair’s transformation from awkward first meeting to full-on best friends.

Some people said they had gone through the same thing with their own dogs.

“It takes time, glad they’re adjusting well,” one viewer wrote, adding that it took three months for their rescued second pup to settle in. “Now they are BFFs.”

Others laughed at June Bug’s very dramatic debut.

“Made quite an entrance at the beginning, LOL,” one person joked.

Another viewer summed it up perfectly, writing that the first howl was dramatic, but now the two dogs are inseparable.

And that is really the sweetest part.

June Bug may have started out terrified of her big sister, but now she cannot seem to get enough of her. What began with crying, confusion, and a very intense first meeting turned into the kind of bond every dog owner hopes for.

Sometimes, puppy siblings just need a little time.

And in June Bug and Tilly’s case, that little bit of time turned them into the cutest fluffy duo.
