Bringing home a new puppy can be nerve-racking, especially when there is already a dog in the family. But one Yellow Labrador named Ellie just showed the internet that sometimes, the introduction can be pure magic.
Ellie recently met her new puppy sister, Georgie, and the sweet moment could not have gone better.
Georgie looks like Ellie’s tiny twin, and from the second they met, it seemed clear that these two were meant to be best friends.
The adorable video, shared by proud dog dad Mark C., shows Ellie welcoming the tiny yellow Lab into the family with the kind of gentle excitement that makes people melt.

Ellie had only become a big sister on May 23, but she was already acting like a natural.
At first, the older Lab seems curious and excited as she checks out the new puppy. Then the tail-wagging begins, and it is impossible not to smile.
Georgie may have been shy at first, but she quickly started warming up to her new home, her dads and her very enthusiastic big sister.
“I don’t think tails could have wagged any faster,” one commenter wrote.
That pretty much sums it up.
Ellie went through every big-sister emotion in the clip: curiosity, joy, playfulness and gentle patience. She seemed thrilled to have a little look-alike following her around.
Viewers could not get enough of the sweet introduction.

It is hard to argue with that after watching Ellie and Georgie together.
Less than 24 hours after meeting, the two yellow Labs were already acting like inseparable sisters. Ellie looked completely smitten with her new mini-me, and Georgie seemed to realize she had just gained a built-in best friend.
Of course, not every dog-and-puppy introduction goes this smoothly.
Experts often recommend introducing a resident dog and new puppy in a neutral space, such as a park or yard, before bringing them into the home together. Letting the older dog set the pace can help them feel more comfortable and less overwhelmed.
It is also important to give the older dog breaks from the puppy and make sure they still get plenty of love and attention.
Tiny puppies may be adorable, but they can also bring big changes to a household.
