Newborn kittens are already impossible to resist, but one proud Maine Coon mama is taking her love to a whole new level.
Gaia, a first-time mother from Lehi, Utah, recently welcomed her very first litter of Maine Coon kittens, and she is clearly overwhelmed in the sweetest possible way.
The proud mama cat is so excited about her babies that she cannot stop cuddling, rolling around and showing them off. The problem is that she is still figuring out how to do all of that without nearly flattening them in the process.
Greek Garden Maine Coons shared an adorable video of Gaia loving on her newborns on May 29, and the internet immediately fell in love.

The clip has already racked up more than 4 million views, and it is easy to see why.
In the video, Gaia is seen doting on her tiny kittens with the kind of enthusiasm only a brand-new mom can have. She rolls near them, cuddles them and seems completely obsessed with her little fluffy pile of babies.
Fortunately, no kittens were hurt. But one tiny baby did appear to get an accidental roller coaster ride when Gaia got a little too excited.
Viewers were torn between melting over the sweet moment and nervously watching to make sure every kitten made it out safely.
There is no doubt Gaia loves her kittens more than anything. She just might need a little practice showing that love gently.
One commenter perfectly described what everyone was seeing: “Cute aggression. She’s like, ‘They are so cute. I’m gonna jump into a puddle of them and roll around.’”
Honestly, that feels accurate.
Anyone who has ever seen a litter of newborn kittens understands the urge to completely lose control over how cute they are. Gaia just happens to be their mother, so she gets full access to the cuddle pile.
Other cat owners chimed in to say this kind of chaotic mama-cat behavior is actually more common than people might think.
“Honestly, after watching my mama cat with hers, I’m surprised how kittens survive,” one viewer joked. “They are sat on, stood on, lay on, picked up, and dropped!”
Another person shared a similar story, writing that when their cat gave birth, she was so obsessed with her baby that she would accidentally sit on him and then panic because she could not find him.
New motherhood is clearly a lot, even for cats.
The good news is that kittens are surprisingly resilient, and mama cats usually learn quickly. Gaia may be a little clumsy now, but her affection is obvious.
For now, her humans are keeping a close eye on the tiny family while Gaia figures out the finer points of motherhood.
Soon enough, she will probably trade the dramatic rolling and kitten puddle dives for gentle grooming and quiet snuggles.
But for the internet, this adorable video is already a perfect reminder that even animal moms can be overwhelmed by how much they love their babies.
Gaia may be new to motherhood, but one thing is already clear: she is completely obsessed with her Maine Coon kittens.
