Two shelter dogs in North Carolina just had the cutest wedding ceremony, but they are still waiting for their real happily ever after.
Pitt County Animal Services in Greenville announced that two adoptable dogs, Pascal and Margo, recently “tied the knot” in an adorable shelter wedding meant to help them find forever homes.
The shelter shared the sweet moment on Instagram, showing Margo dressed for her big day in a white veil and tutu.

“Margo spent the whole time bouncing around, soaking up the attention, and making sure everyone knew this was her special day,” Pitt County Animal Services wrote.
Pascal also dressed for the occasion, wearing a formal black hat and a wedding bandana collar designed to look like a tuxedo with a black bow tie.

But according to the shelter, the groom did not look nearly as thrilled as his bride.
His expression, the shelter joked, was “of a man wondering if it was too late to make a run for it.”
The two dogs posed for wedding photos and sealed the ceremony with a big smooch.
“While the wedding may not have been legally binding, the friendship definitely is,” Pitt County Animal Services wrote. “These two have become great friends at the shelter and always enjoy spending time together.”
The shelter also joked that there will not be any “honeymoon puppies” for the pair, since both dogs are already spayed and neutered.
But while Pascal and Margo may have had their big wedding day, there is still one thing missing from their story: families of their own.
The shelter said both dogs are still available for adoption.
Pascal is an American pit bull terrier mix, while Margo is a female terrier mix. As of Wednesday, June 10, both were still waiting at Pitt County Animal Services on County Home Road in Greenville.
Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and the shelter can be reached at 252-902-1725.
“Adopting a pet is a life-saving choice that gives a deserving animal a second chance at a loving home,” the Pitt County government website says. “Adoption is more than giving a pet a home. It is creating a bond filled with love, trust, and companionship that lasts a lifetime.”
