A tiny sea lion pup gave everyone a scare when he suddenly realized his mom was nowhere to be seen.
The little pup was alone on the beach, looking around nervously as if he had one very important question: Where did Mom go?
In a sweet clip shared online, the baby sea lion seemed completely overwhelmed as he searched the shoreline. He was still so small, and it was easy to understand why he looked frightened. For a newborn pup, being away from mom for even a little while can feel like the biggest emergency in the world.
Thankfully, Mom had not gone far.

According to the video’s caption, it is normal for a sea lion mother to leave her newborn pup on shore while she heads into the water to feed. But that does not make the reunion any less emotional when she comes back.
Mom appeared to be worried, too. After returning from the ocean, she seemed to realize her baby was not right where she expected him to be.
Then came the moment everyone was waiting for.
The mother and pup spotted each other.
As soon as they recognized one another, the baby sea lion hurried toward her with the sweetest little waddle. Mom moved toward him, too, and the two met for a precious nuzzle on the beach.
