Hotel guests usually expect a friendly front desk when they arrive, but at one charming inn in Canada, the real welcome committee has four paws, a fluffy coat and a stuffed goose in his mouth.
Benny, a Bernese Mountain Dog who lives at the Dominion Hill Country Inn, has become the hotel’s most adorable host thanks to his daily check-in ritual. Every afternoon at 3 p.m., Benny grabs his beloved stuffed goose and plants himself by the front door, ready to greet whoever walks in next.
And yes, the goose is very much part of the welcome package.
In a sweet video shared online, Benny can be seen waiting patiently at the door with his plush buddy tucked in his mouth. He seems to know exactly what time guests are expected to arrive, and he clearly takes his job seriously.
“Every day at 3 pm, our hotel dog waits by the door to show his guests his stuffed goose,” the video’s text overlay reads.

The caption explained that Benny has the routine down perfectly.
“Benny knows when it’s check in time for his guests. And every day at 3 PM without fail, he grabs his stuffed goose and parks himself by the front door to wait for his guests,” it said.
It is impossible not to imagine how delighted guests must be when they walk into the inn and are immediately introduced to Benny and his prized goose. After all, plenty of hotels offer mints on pillows or complimentary coffee, but not many come with a giant Bernese Mountain Dog personally showing off his favorite toy.
People in the comments were completely smitten with the fluffy greeter.
“I need a video of guests reacting to Benny saying ‘welcome’ because all I see is him waiting alone,” one person wrote.
“I’d stay at this hotel just to meet Benny,” another commenter added.
Someone else joked, “Benny, tell me everything about this goose. Start at the beginning. Don’t skip anything.”
Another person teased, “Me on my way to check in just to ‘ooooh and aaaaah’ over the goose.”
Honestly, Benny may be the best hotel host in the world. He is friendly, punctual and always brings a goose to the greeting. What more could anyone want?
