Every pet owner eventually has to face a difficult truth: Your animal may have a favorite person, and it might not be you.
One horse named Ryan has clearly chosen his favorite human, and she happens to be an adorable little girl named Kendall.
The sweet pair share an incredibly close bond, and Ryan reportedly comes running whenever he hears the toddler nearby. Kendall appears to love him just as much, especially when it is time to hand out his favorite snack.
Kendall’s mother, Jenna, recently captured the precious moment her daughter arrived at Ryan’s stall carrying a handful of carrots.
All Kendall needed to do was call for her four-legged best friend.
“You want carrot, bud?” the little girl asked. “You want carrot, buddy?”
Ryan immediately appeared, clearly recognizing her voice and knowing exactly what she was offering.
The toddler showed no fear as the large horse gently reached toward her tiny hands. Kendall accidentally dropped the carrots, but Ryan did not seem to mind. He quickly gobbled them up from the ground.
“Ryan’s two favorite things. Kendall and carrots,” the caption on the heartwarming footage read.

Viewers could not get enough of their adorable friendship.
“Precious!” one person wrote.
“Ryan can’t pass up a carrot,” another joked.
“The world needs about 10,000 more of these kinds of videos. Thank you,” one viewer added.
Another commenter was amazed that Ryan appeared to recognize Kendall immediately.
“The horse knows her voice. I love it. Thank you for sharing,” the person wrote.
Carrots are a popular treat for horses, but they are not the only human food the animals can safely enjoy in moderation. Horses can also eat sliced apples, bananas, watermelon, cantaloupe and celery.
Apples should always be cut into smaller pieces to reduce the risk of choking.
For Ryan, however, it appears no treat is quite as special unless it is being delivered by his favorite little girl.
