One lovestruck cat thought he had found the girl of his dreams, but his attempt at romance did not go according to plan.
The adorable moment was captured in a TikTok video after a gray-and-white cat traveling in a van noticed another cat sitting inside a vehicle across the street.
He appeared instantly fascinated by the mysterious stranger.
The smitten cat stared across the road before making a series of soft, unusual noises in an apparent effort to get her attention.
He called out repeatedly, looking and sounding as though he were trying his hardest to charm her.
Unfortunately, his new crush was not impressed.
The older female cat remained calm and completely uninterested as her admirer continued serenading her from across the street.
His owners later revealed the heartbreaking reason the romance was unlikely to go anywhere.
“Unfortunately, she was 10 years old and couldn’t care less about his feelings,” they wrote.

Viewers immediately fell in love with the one-sided romance and flooded the comments with sympathy for the rejected cat.
“He’s yearning,” one person wrote.
“No catcalling from the car, sir, that’s inappropriate,” another viewer joked.
“Oh, he’s a sweet talker,” someone else added.
Others could not stop laughing at the dramatic difference between the two cats. While the young admirer poured his heart out, the object of his affection remained perfectly stoic.

One viewer even claimed the cat was making a particularly rare type of meow that can occur when a feline genuinely wants to interact with another cat.
Whether it was true love or simply curiosity, the sweet cat certainly gave the encounter everything he had.
