Many people may not realize just how common it is for breeders and animal caretakers to give newborn litters a matching set of themed names.

Besides being fun, the names can make it much easier to tell similar-looking puppies or kittens apart during their first few weeks of life.

One Maine Coon owner recently revealed the theme chosen for her cat’s three newborn boys, and it could not be more fitting.

The tiny kittens were named after the famous trio from Alvin and the Chipmunks.

TikTok user @wildmane_mainecoons first introduced viewers to Stormy, a beautiful golden-eyed Maine Coon who recently welcomed three male kittens.

The owner explained that she wanted a special theme for the litter, so she asked followers to vote in an Instagram poll. The winning idea was Alvin, Simon and Theodore.

In the adorable reveal video, she holds all three gray kittens together in her arms. At only three weeks old, each one is barely larger than the palm of her hand.

The first kitten introduced is Alvin, who has a blue smoke coat. As the camera moves closer, the tiny kitten lets out a precious meow while showing off his fuzzy face and little pink paw pads.

Next comes Simon, who is a lighter shade of gray with darker legs and a dark tail. His coat color is described as black high smoke.

Finally, viewers meet Theodore, the third member of the tiny “chipmunk” trio.

Theodore has a black smoke coat with dark markings on his feet, a darker gray face and striking light-colored eyes.

Although the three kittens look similar at first glance, their individual markings and shades make each one unique.

Maine Coons are best known for their large size, tufted ears and long, luxurious coats, but the popular breed also comes in an impressive variety of colors and patterns.

Maine Coons can be black, brown, white, blue, red, orange or silver. Their coats may also feature tabby, tortoiseshell, calico, shaded, smoke or bi-color patterns.

All three kittens in the video have different versions of a smoke coat, which gives their fur a soft, velvety appearance.

Smoke-colored cats have a lighter undercoat beneath darker-tipped fur. The contrast creates a dramatic effect that becomes especially noticeable when the cat moves or when its coat is gently parted.

Between their fluffy gray coats, tiny meows and perfectly chosen names, Alvin, Simon and Theodore may be the cutest chipmunk trio yet.
