Most neighborhood kids knock on the door looking for another child to come outside and play. But in one neighborhood, the most popular kid on the block apparently has four paws and orange fur.
Jasper, an orange cat with a growing fan base online, has become such a favorite with local children that they actually stop by his house to ask if he can come outside.
In a hilarious TikTok video, Jasper’s owner answers the door to a young girl who politely asks if “Jasper can come out” and play in the yard.
Instead of simply laughing it off, Jasper’s mom actually goes to check on him.
She tells the girl that Jasper is currently relaxing on the sofa, but promises to leave the back door open so he can head outside later if he feels like joining the fun.
After closing the door, Jasper’s owner bursts out laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation.
She then turns the camera toward the neighborhood celebrity himself.
“This is Jasper,” she says as the orange cat calmly sits on the couch grooming himself, seemingly unaware that children are waiting outside for him.

Viewers immediately fell in love with the unexpected reveal.
“I thought Jasper was a little boy,” one commenter admitted.
“I wasn’t expecting a cat,” another wrote, adding that they thought the video would show a shy sibling who did not want to come outside.
Others were especially amused that Jasper’s owner genuinely went to ask the cat whether he wanted to play.
One person joked that Jasper probably told her, “Say I’m not in!”
The story got even cuter in a follow-up video when Jasper’s owner confirmed that the orange cat really is a neighborhood favorite, calling him “the people’s princess.”
This time, Jasper was sent outside to join the children.
The kids could be heard excitedly welcoming him into the yard as his owner joked, “I gave him no choice today, guys.”
For Jasper, apparently being the neighborhood’s most popular playmate comes with responsibilities.
