Anyone who has ever walked a dog knows how quickly a leash can turn into a full-blown puzzle.
One second, everything is going smoothly. The next, your dog has somehow wrapped the leash around a tree, a mailbox or a signpost and is looking at you like you created the problem.
That is exactly what happened to Winston the Bernedoodle during a recent walk with his mom.
In a hilarious video, Winston proudly finds the perfect stick before suddenly realizing his leash has become wrapped around a tree.
He stops and looks to his mom for help.
She tells him to stay still while she walks around the tree to untangle the leash.
There is just one problem.
Winston follows her.
Instead of fixing the situation, the pair simply keep circling the tree together.

Within seconds, it starts to look like a very confused merry-go-round with no obvious way off.
The Austin Powers theme music playing over the clip makes the whole thing even funnier.
Winston’s mom also perfectly summed up their predicament in the caption.
“I wonder what the neighbors think when they see Dumb and Dumber out for a stroll…” she joked.
Viewers immediately related to the chaos.
One commenter imagined Winston giving the walk a glowing review.
“‘We went for a walk around the tree. 10/10!’ – Winston probably.”
Another viewer joked that Winston might actually think his owner is the one making things complicated.
“Well, I’m not the idiot continually walking around the tree trying to solve the problem…” the commenter wrote.
Winston’s mom replied, “I want to laugh, but this also feels personal.”
Another person joked, “Rumor has it they’re still going in circles around the tree.”
Winston’s mom responded with a photo of him and admitted the struggle may not be over.
“Not a tree, but maybe a street sign lol!” she wrote.
Thankfully, one commenter offered a much simpler solution for the next time Winston gets tangled.
“That’s why I don’t move; I just pass the leash to myself around the tree,” the viewer explained.
That trick might save Winston’s mom a few laps next time.
Because if there is one thing Winston made perfectly clear, it is that telling him to stay still while she solves the problem is probably not going to work.
