A singer visiting a meerkat sanctuary ended up creating an unexpectedly adorable moment when the tiny animals appeared to become completely relaxed by his music.

Plumes, a viral animal singer known for performing for different creatures, recently stopped by a meerkat sanctuary and brought along his guitar.

In a TikTok video from the visit, Plumes began playing an acoustic version of One Direction’s “Moments.”

It didn’t take long for the meerkats to notice.

Two curious meerkats wandered over to investigate the music and quickly made themselves comfortable around the singer.

Instead of keeping their distance, the tiny animals climbed around his legs and appeared completely unbothered by his presence.

One meerkat even moved close enough to inspect the guitar.

Then things somehow got even cuter.

After checking out the unexpected visitor, the meerkats settled down nearby with the rest of their group.

Before long, some of them appeared to drift off to sleep.

Plumes himself seemed stunned by how relaxed they had become.

He said he couldn’t believe the animals felt comfortable enough that “they started falling asleep.”

Viewers immediately fell in love with the peaceful interaction.

“So very sweet. What a beautiful gift you give to the animals,” one person commented.

Another viewer said the singer’s voice probably had a lot to do with the meerkats’ reaction.

“Your voice is so soothing, so I don’t blame them for getting sleepy,” the commenter wrote.

Another added, “They feel so safe with you.”

Several people were especially charmed by the way some of the meerkats appeared to sleep on their backs.

One commenter noted that leaving their bellies exposed suggested the animals were feeling extremely relaxed.

That reaction stood out because meerkats are normally known for being highly alert.

In the wild, members of a meerkat group often take turns standing watch for predators while the others eat, play or rest.

That constant awareness is part of what makes the animals so recognizable.

So watching a group of them settle down around a stranger playing guitar made the moment even more special.

“Meerkats are notoriously alert when it comes to potential predators,” one viewer pointed out. “So you know they found his presence very soothing.”

Whether it was the gentle guitar, Plumes’ voice or simple curiosity that won them over, the meerkats clearly decided there was nothing to worry about.

And by the end of the performance, the singer seemed to have traded an audience for a tiny group of very sleepy new fans.
