A snorkeler got the surprise of a lifetime when an adorable seal decided her swimming fins were the perfect place to hang out.

Polly Frier loves diving and snorkeling, but one recent trip turned into an unforgettable wildlife encounter after a curious little seal swam right up to her.

Instead of keeping its distance, the seal became fascinated with Polly’s fins and grabbed onto them, seemingly refusing to let go.

Polly joked that her fins had suddenly become “emotional support” for the seal, and judging by the video, the little animal certainly seemed comfortable with its new friend.

The hilarious moment also created an unusual problem. People are normally warned not to touch or interfere with wildlife, but what exactly are you supposed to do when the wildlife decides to cling to you?

Viewers had plenty to say.

One commenter joked, “‘Do not touch or interfere with the wildlife’ whilst the wildlife clings onto you for real!”

Another wrote, “It’s funny how they tell you we aren’t supposed to touch or interact with wildlife. But nobody ever explained what we’re supposed to do if THEY pick you…”

Someone else teased that the seal was “trying to drown you in the cutest way possible,” while another viewer declared that Polly had officially received a “seal of approval.”

Perhaps the funniest explanation came from a commenter who told Polly, “That’s it, you live in the ocean now, you’re his mama.”

Polly seemed to agree, replying that it genuinely felt like the seal had “claimed” her.

Whatever made the curious little seal choose Polly’s fins, the sweet encounter gave her a snorkeling memory she probably won’t forget anytime soon.
