Golden Retriever puppies are already hard to resist, but one tiny pup named Kona has taken cuteness to another level with her hilarious morning routine.

Kona is a 3-month-old cream-colored Golden Retriever who recently went viral on TikTok after showing just how little interest she has in starting her day.

In a video posted by @itsmisskonabear, Kona’s crate door is wide open and she is free to come out and play.

There is just one problem.

She apparently has absolutely no desire to get up.

As her mom reaches into the crate to greet her, Kona simply flops over onto her side instead of stretching, standing up or heading out for playtime.

The adorable puppy looks completely content to stay curled up where she is.

Her owner jokingly described her as a “sassy sleepy potato,” although in the viral clip, the sleepy part definitely seems to be winning.

Viewers immediately related to Kona’s reluctance to get moving in the morning.

One TikTok user joked that her own Golden Retriever puppy was the complete opposite, writing that she was already awake at 6:30 a.m. while her “crazy Golden girl puppy” was chewing on the furniture.

Another pet owner said her pup was more like Kona and preferred staying in bed until around 10 a.m. with cartoons and cuddles.

Kona’s love of sleeping is actually pretty normal for a puppy her age.

According to Adopt a Pet, a 3-month-old puppy can sleep around 18 to 20 hours every day, including several naps in addition to nighttime sleep.

By around 6 months old, puppies may still sleep between 16 and 18 hours a day.

Adult Golden Retrievers generally sleep around 10 to 14 hours daily, while older dogs may begin sleeping even longer as they age.

Every dog is different, of course, and some puppies need more rest than others.

Kona certainly appears determined to take full advantage of her puppy sleep schedule.

And while she may look like the world’s sleepiest little Golden Retriever in the morning, chances are she has plenty of energy left for a serious case of the zoomies once she finally decides to get out of bed
