Most dogs love a good stick, but one Labrador Retriever named Oscar apparently believes bigger is always better.
During a walk, Oscar came across an enormous branch that was far too special to leave behind. There was just one problem: he had to figure out how to get it across a narrow bridge.
The giant stick was much wider than the walkway, creating an obstacle that would have made plenty of dogs give up.
Oscar, however, was determined.
Video of the moment shows the clever Labrador carefully working out how to maneuver the oversized branch without getting it hopelessly stuck.
Instead of charging forward, Oscar appears to stop, think about the problem and adjust the stick until he finds a way to continue.
His persistence quickly won over viewers.
The video attracted more than 1,800 comments, with people praising Oscar’s problem-solving skills and refusing to quit.
“I love dogs in STEM,” one viewer joked.
Another pointed out that Oscar seemed to recognize the problem before even attempting to cross.
“He knew there was a problem before he even went up the steps!!” the commenter wrote.
Others cheered him on as he worked through the challenge.

Oscar has apparently faced similar stick-related problems before.
In another video, he manages to get halfway across the bridge before the branch becomes stuck. Once again, he refuses to abandon his prize and works out another solution.
The determination may be the funniest part.
Oscar could easily have dropped the branch and continued his walk, but that apparently was never an option.
For this Labrador, no stick is too big and no bridge is going to stand in the way.
