A routine repair turned into the cutest kind of chaos when a maintenance worker stepped into a penguin enclosure at Tanganyika Wildlife Park.
Maintenance Man Frank was simply trying to fix the pool drain, but the park’s curious black-and-white residents quickly decided he was far more interesting than the repair.
Video of the moment shows Frank walking into the enclosure with one tiny penguin already trailing right behind him like a little shadow.
Once he gets into the pool, things get even more adorable.
The penguins swim around him, follow his every move and seem determined to inspect exactly what he is doing.
At one point, Frank even appears to have a serious little conversation with the group, almost as if he is trying to explain that he really does need them to give him some space.
The penguins appear to listen.
Following directions, however, is another story.
“Something tells us Maintenance Man Frank did NOT account for penguins when estimating how long this repair would take,” the video caption joked.

Viewers loved the unexpected interaction.
“Was he trying to negotiate with them?” one person asked.
Another imagined what the excited penguins might be thinking: “Hey Frank, look at this! I swim super fast, Frank! Are we going to play tag, Frank? Frank, play with us!!!”
But one comment may have summed up the whole situation perfectly:
“Frank is the enrichment item of the day.”
The pool eventually needed fixing, but judging by the penguins’ reaction, they were perfectly happy with their surprise visitor.
