Most cats go crazy for tuna, chicken or their favorite crunchy treats. But one adorable gray-and-white kitty has developed a hilarious obsession with something nobody expected: rice cakes.

And apparently, she’s willing to fight for them.

In a funny TikTok video shared by @paulthebutler, a cat dad reveals that his normally sweet and affectionate feline undergoes a complete personality change whenever he brings out the unusual snack.

According to her owner, she’s a “perfect angel baby” about 95% of the time. But the moment a rice cake appears, all bets are off.

The video begins with the determined kitty eyeing a rice cake on her dad’s plate. Within seconds, she’s reaching for it, completely ignoring the fact that the food doesn’t belong to her.

When her dad gently pushes her away, she doesn’t take the rejection well.

Instead, the little troublemaker protests, attempts to bite his hand and starts swatting at him as though she’s prepared to defend her right to the snack.

Her dad even reminds her that she has her own food, but she’s clearly not interested in hearing it. She wants the rice cake, and she wants it now.

Eventually, the video ends with the frustrated feline giving her owner a seriously unimpressed stare after realizing he isn’t going to share.

Naturally, viewers were completely on her side.

“Girl, you fight the patriarchy,” one person joked, while another cheered, “Get that rice cake, lioness!”

Someone else couldn’t stop laughing at how quickly the normally sweet cat became a tiny fighter, writing, “She threw hands without hesitation for that rice cake.”

Another viewer imagined what was going through her mind: “If I can’t have it, then neither can you.”

Several people insisted that the hardworking kitty deserved a rice cake of her own, especially after all the important cat duties she performs around the house.

But perhaps the funniest revelation came when someone asked whether she actually enjoys eating rice cakes.

Her dad explained that she doesn’t even want to eat them. She simply likes to bite them before abandoning them.

So after all that dramatic protesting, swatting and glaring, it turns out she’s not even hungry for the snack!

Cats can develop unusual interests in human foods, sometimes because of their texture, smell or the simple excitement of investigating something their owners are eating. Plain, unsalted rice cakes aren’t generally considered toxic to cats, but they offer little nutritional value and aren’t an appropriate substitute for cat treats.

Whatever this little lady finds so irresistible, one thing is clear: Her dad might never enjoy another rice cake in peace.
